The transmission sector is witnessing rapid growth in capacity and in coverage across India and presents a unique set of opportunities and challenges to policy makers, planners, system users, developers, consumers and other stakeholders. Systematic and timely sharing of accurate data is key for optimal transmission planning and development of transmission infrastructure. A national level repository for transmission data and related documents can aid this process and reduce the information asymmetry as well as to promote relevant policy and regulatory research and analysis.

Policy

This module focuses on transmission policies at the central level. This includes Electricity Act, National Electricity and Tariff Policy provisions for Transmission, Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) Guidelines and documents related to Transmission Committees.

Commercial

This module focuses on documents related to the commercial aspects of the transmission system at the central level. This includes Standard Bidding Documents, Upcoming project announcements for bidding and Bidding process coordinator (BPC) appointments.

Regulatory

This module covers various regulations related to the transmission system issued at Central and State level. This includes regulations on General Network Access, Tariff, Planning, Grid Codes, Connectivity, Construction, Standards of Performance, Open Access, Safety etc.

Tariff

This module focuses on Transmission tariffs for the inter-state transmission system (ISTS) determined by CERC and for various intra-state transmission systems (InSTS) at the State level determined by respective SERCs. These include Long-term and Short-term Open Access Charges.

Performance

This module focuses on inter-regional and intra-regional transmission system transfer capability, congestion and curtailment. It also showcases state transmission licensees’ performance in terms of losses and network availability.

Planning

This module covers transmission system planning data at Inter-regional, Intra-regional and Intra-state levels. Further it also captures deployment progress of transmission lines and substations on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
